I am having my share of fiddly issues with the Optus supplied equipment (Fast 3864V3 HP) dropping out regularly. unless there is clearly what is what on the devices. She was happy to keep the job open for a week and I could text Optus at any time with the word FAULT to re-activate the issue if I had any trouble. This README is on hold until I will get a new router from TeliaSonera Company AB since i bought a private router for now, It's range is terrible, even with 2.4G. Is the Optus branded Sagemcom worse than the vanilla one, or the ones branded by other ISPs? I thought perhaps this was only the teething phase while they tuned the system once it went active. and if you are NEW to hardware hacking want to try the same things if you get insperation. Outgoing calls should be possible as soon as the Optus modem-router has connected (to Optus and not the NBN). This is an apartment. After much cajoling and begging Ive signed up for the NBN and Im about to lose my ever reliable Optus HFC access. Faily smooth on the Asus. We were told the phone will take maybe up to 36 hours to work. 4 of 9 different routers I found, I really worked hard for get root access on this device. Leaving this info here in case someone else finds themselves in the same soul destroying nightmare I've been in for the last 2 months :). Hello to everyone who is very kindly offering their advice.I have just moved to the NBN with Optus and have a home WiFi network comprising of:1x Apple Airport Extreme2x Apple Airport ExpressI would like to keep my WiFi network as it is and just connect the Sagemcom to the Airport Extreme just for the home phone service.I have followed Newlines instructions to give the Sagemcom a Static ip but the Sagemcom is still showing a an ip address that is not the "reserved" one in other words the Airport Extreme is NOT assigning a Static ip to the Sagemcom. It is just simple for Optus tech staff. Let us know. Have forwarded a greater range, no change. Are you sure you want to create this branch? Sagemcom F@ST 3864AC Change device. Too late for us in any case, we are leaving Optus after over 10 years because their "support" during this episode was beyond pathetic. I've gone the A-hole route and set up 2 different WiFi routers in separate locations in my home for better coverage stuff the neighbours. Port forwarding on my PC seems to be intact. If it is or is not a business account, you should ask at Yes Crowd, https://yescrowd.optus.com.au/, with your question. here is a proof for how to find info about all settings they have configured, There is plenty of configuration files on the router and for download all these Just looking for a quick redundancy method, for at least the modem if it fails, thanks. We would typically have about 6 connections. how do i access CG3000 to disable DHCP, change username, password etc. So this just got annoying so I just unplugged the sagemcom and put the netgear cg3000v2 in again but had to change the settings to connect via ethernet instead of cable and things have been fine again. Then, press on Choose file and pick downloaded Firmware. This is the last and the biggest commit since I created this repo. That was next on my list try to get it to act like a dumb switch. They really want people to start moving. Ill now be able to upload faster. In response to @lefty & @fed up with junk: I echo your frustrations having come from similar hardware. 192.168.0.1 returns me the Sagemcom homepage. (Updated: 2022/11/15, 4 years later). With that I get great coverage everywhere. ? Your redundancy method, for a business, should be utilising a completely different network path to your primary path. so this is NOT because because a wrong baudrate of course, it was a "let's fuck this router and see what happens" time, Just another device and other tools for trying AGAIN to hack the last firmware release I can go a long time, without having to reboot. Thanks, obviously they need to update their website. Speedwise everything is fine, I'd just prefer the DHCP set up to be left up to the R7000. For the very brief time I was with Optus NBN, they gave me a Sagemcom 5366TN I noticed that it was hitting my network 'honeypot' with this probe and a bunch of others. know for YOU and as always for FREE and under GPLv3. So far so good. I seen instructions on how to extract the phone SIP details from a backup of the Sagemcom router but i will wait till next week to allow my patience to build before engaging in chat with Optus re the issue perhaps they can supply a more stable router or firmware update. Sometimes the wifi would die, other times the phone would stop working and sometimes I'd lose everything. Our current connection is an Optus modem bridged to a much better wifi modern. I already had my own (Netgear) router so the Tech didn't connect the SAGEM. Finally I found all the old pictures and it's been years now since this repo was created. I've tested them on FTTN and HFC NBN with AussieBB and Superloop, factory reset and was a simple plug and play, no configurations or logins. Some other intresting links without any required login you can visit I would have to do multiple power resets each week. I'm worried there'll be some issue yet to crop up as everything has been super easy. Shopping. It gives me AC wifi and has gigabit ports. The WiFI might not work as well in a different home. determined to succeed I am when it comes to hacking devices for fun. Yes, I've read a few people getting admin access through github scripts, but i don't wanna brick anything this early. often not even allowing me to connect to 192.168.0.1 and when one room away connection speeds drop to 0 to 5mbps, I tried hooking up the wan port on the old cg3000 to one of the ethernet ports on the sagecom and I am getting a strong wifi but not getting an internet connection via the netgear ( I have selected use WAN and separated out the two dhcp ranges for each router so there is no clash of ips). All of the above mentioned in the 3 + change of gateway ip . Best news is that Optus may actually be listening and getting firmware update out more promptly than they have in . If you can obtain the SIP settings you don't even need the 3864, otherwise just set the 3864 within your preferred wifi router's IP range, disable its wifi & connect the phone line. - HFC: no problem.-Their Wi-Fi quality is crap, during busy hours 3864OP fluctuates 28 36Mbps (single band 2.4) but 3864V3 HP is better 58 Mbps (2.4GHz) and 70-80 Mbps (5GHz). I believe it's independent of RSP. On the old modem we had no trouble with connections (obviously only 2.4Ghz) anywhere in the house but on the sagecom it is poor and unreliable (On both 2.4 and 5Ghz.) I'd prefer if this could perhaps be limited to Optus VOIP server. Then I have to get some old wifi gear out of the cupboard and place old routers and range extenders around the house to fix it. Go. The whole point of a redundant path is to ensure that the worse case failure, i.e a physical break in your HFC access, doesn't impact your business. This was really annoying for using Google Chomecast's which have no ability to statically assign an IP address. Can you bridge and still use optus NBN's phoneline? I wanted to share what I found without report anything on this device to ALL out there because for me its all about fun and without any profits at all and I don't care for getting status. so, here is the proof that we have backdoors in our device without getting any info at all from our ISP: It's not only TeliaSonera Company that got backdoors on our devices without letting us know, They proved to me with this that they take their customers' safety seriously and I have great respect for everyone who works at telia and its subcontractors, I have now instead found flaws with other operators where there is extreme ignorance so this history is now history and I am both happy, proud and extremely satisfied with the results. Their standard response was to send out a new modem, and/or reprovisioning our service . Firmware for Sagemcom F@st 2704 brought by TPSA - Polish ISP. Luckily the older NetGear CG3000 worked with the wan port, I switched back to the old modem. with "crazy" things and the serial readers gets and these devices break extremely easily if you guess pins etc And I don't know what the hell is going on, but my net on NBN keeps lagging / dropping out every minute or two, basically playing any FPS game, it works, then a massive amount of packet loss, and it comes back after 20 seconds. Same as above but just another device of the same model and firmware and A new ft232dl reader since I experimenting I cannot believe Optus supplies this sagemcom piece of junk to its customers and seems to only allow that to function with the phone line. This wiki and all scripts that will be added under this repo has been made by wuseman and is licensed under GPL Version 3. Everything in this repo may still be relevant for other internet providers and the firmware they using on their devices worldwide since Sagemcom is still cooperates with Tele2(comhem) and many many many more internet providers out there and even if Telia has removed most of the alternatives, mostly things is working the same as before but with less options(for telia customers) due to an upgraded version, so everything I have written here is highly relevant, but because I have already shown, revealed and done what if I can, I will archive this repo from 2022-11-15 and there will be no more upgrades.
